The service was initially planned to have four to five original films and five television shows with budgets ranging from $25 million to $100 million. In August 2018, it was announced that the planned Star Wars series would cost $100 million. Captain Marvel would be the first theatrical film to be available exclusively on Disney.[22]
In November 2019, the service issued a special warning for viewers, which reported that some cartoons contain "outdated cultural stereotypes." This concerns such cartoons as "Dumbo" (1941), "Fantasia" (1940), "Lady and the Tramp" (1955), "The Jungle Book" (1967). As noted, these cartoons were criticized for their racist subtext. In "Dumbo", in particular, there is a scene in which faceless black workers sing about working all day and all night and not being able to read or write. In addition, there is a scene with a crow named Jim Crow. This name was used as a derogatory term for black people in the 19th century.
